Singapore Equestrian Federation Honorary Secretary Steps Down

Dr. Low Hong Tong submitted his resignation as Honorary Secretary of the Equestrian Federation of Singapore to the EFS Management Council on Thursday 8 April 2004. The President of the EFS Mr. Leong Horn Kee accepted the resignation of Dr. Low with the immediate effect. 

Dr. Low has been involved with the EFS for three years since 2001 to the time of the resignation. When asked, Dr. Low mentioned that he decided to resign immediately after the Annual General Meeting at the Bukit Timah Saddle club, held on April 7, 2004. Till that date, Dr. Low also served as the Honorary Secretary of the BTSC for 9 years and was in charge for maintaining of the BTSC and EFS websites.

Dr. Low will continue to serve as Honorary Secretary of Thoroughbred Owners Association and Sports Trust (TOAST), which represent and promote the interests of racehorse owners in Singapore.

According to Mr. Wong, the Vice-President of the EFS, the new Honorary Secretary will be appointed at the next EFS's Management Council meeting scheduled on 23 April 2004. Most probably, Ms. Evelyn Goh, currently an Assistant of the EFS Honorary Secretary, will be approved as a replacement.
