The World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen 2004, is approaching…

As in the past years, In 2004, the best riders and drivers from all over the world will meet each other in the Aachen Soers on the grounds of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennvereins (ALRV) from July 13th to the 18th for the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen, "combination of high quality sport and folk festival”.

For most nations the Monday following this event is the deadline for the Olympic Games. Due to this, this last chance before Athens is another guarantee for first class competitors in the three disciplines Driving, Jumping, and Dressage.

The evening spectacle "Horse & Symphony" in the Deutsche Bank Stadium is held in favour of the United Nations Children's Found, UNICEF. From "Pomp and Circumstance" to "Carmen": After last year's great success, there was no question that at the conclusion of the Soers-Sunday strength and grace will again meet sound and harmony. The evening will be organised by the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein (ALRV) in co-operation with the Symphony Orchestra Aachen and the daily newspaper Aachener Zeitung.

Starting at 8.30 p.m. the orchestra provides the tact for top-class equestrians: The four-time Vaulting World Champion Nadia Zülow as well as the Olympic Dressage Gold Medallist Ann-Kathrin Linsenhoff and the internationally successful dressage rider Tineke Bartels from the Netherlands have all announced their participation. Along with top-class equestrians the spectators can also enjoy further spectacular presentations - amongst other things from the famous horse musical "Zauberwald" (magic forest). A pony quadrille under the direction of Renate Dahmen and the Aachen amazons Jana Kun, Sabine Rueben, Alex Mumm and Astrid Buer will round off the program. Special guest will be the Tenor Andreas Joost, for many years established as a musical star and a "darling" of the audience, who will dazzle the crowd with songs from George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein. Chief Musical Director Marcus R. Bosch will lead the musical direction.

As already in 2003, 3 Euro per ticket sold will go directly to UNICEF. Tickets at a price of 21 Euro for adults and 14 Euro for children can be obtained at the Theatre Aachen and from the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein (Ticket Hotline: + 49 - 241 - 9171 - 111).
