Four
event organizers partner to bring a new showjumping competition to
South East Asia
NEWS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 1, 2004
SEA-January 1, 2004-four event organizers announce the SEA
Showjumping Open Championships to further promote and develop the
equestrian sport in South East Asia.
A new competition will
hit the road in South East Asia in the year 2004. Riders and event
organizers from four SEA countries - Malaysia (Quzier Ambak,
Equestrian Promotion Sdn Bhd), Indonesia ( Rafiq Radinal, Arthayasa
Stables), Thailand (Sunetr Burakasikorn and Helena Gabrielsson
Equestrian Paradice) and Singapore (Alla Poloumieva, Sport Horse
Communication & Management), - initiated the founding of a new
regional competition - SEA Showjumping Open Championships.
The competition has been
created to satisfy an increased interest among SEA riders and to
provide them with an additional opportunity to compete and raise
their standards towards an internationally recognized level.
Because of the
difficulties involved in transporting horses (veterinary regulations
and transport costs), it was decided to hold the competition in each
country individually and then determine an overall winner for each
level in the region. The competition will run in three levels: Cat.
A (125cm); Cat. B (115cm) and Cat. C (105cm).
The competition will
carry total prize money of US$3,000. The price money will be awarded
to the 1st place winner in each category and will be divided as
follow: Cat.A (US$1,200), Cat.B (US$1,000), Cat.C (US$800).
