UK-based triple team Australian gold medalist Andrew Hoy has won the CIC-W Eventing World Cup Qualifier at Luhmuehlen, Germany, with his top horse Mr. Pracatan. Andrew incurred no jumping penalties and finished with 39.5 penalties overall, thus overtaking last year's World Cup winner Linda Algotsson (SWE) in the World Cup standing.
Andrew's wife Bettina finished fourth with Ringwood Cockatoo. Andrew placed sixth on his second horse Yeoman's Point with 48 penalties.
Zara Phillips (GBR) and Springleaze Macaroo, who were still in second place after Dressage and Cross-country, dropped four rails in the Jumping test and finished seventh with 51.5 penalties.
Andrew will surely be pleased with his performance, consolidating his chances for selection to the Australian team for Athens.
