At its meeting in Brussels BEL on 17 September 2004, the FEI Judicial Committee reviewed most of the outstanding positive medication cases for horses providing their decisions which would be published in the FEI Bulletin once the appeal periods had passed on each case. One case was presented during an oral hearing and decided by the Committee.

Positive medication cases for riders were also discussed and the follow-up procedures were reviewed. One case would be dealt with by the Legal Department in due course. The criteria for medication cases in which the "short-track" processing would be offered was reviewed and agreed, as well as the penalty scale and documents which would be used to process these cases.

The Judicial Committee had not considered the positive medication case for the horse Shutterfly ridden by Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum GER, during the CSI-W Milano, April 2004. The PR’s lawyer had been granted two extensions which he had requested in order to be able to produce evidence for his client. The extensions had been granted as per normal FEI Legal procedures for positive medication cases.
