Dressage... Postscript From Germany

Malaysia to Frankfurt every school holiday... must be a dream of many teenagers. Ellesse Tzinberg, 15 year old dressage rider, feels very privileged to do just that. Her objective for 2007 is to be the best she can as a Prix St George Young Rider.

And how does she plan to do that? Here's what she says...

"With my parents help and support, I know of only one way, to train with the best and of course have a beautiful horse to work with. Once I reached PSG in Asia, my parents got me a PSG partner, Corlette who is in Germany."

And if you ask Ellesse about Corlette, the answer will be, "She's beautiful and very pretty, she's an 11 year old mare sired by Cordoba and has the most luscious, rich Hershey colour (Plain Hershey chocolate Bars happens to be Ellesse' Favourite)."

Together, we will work on our beautiful picture." Corlette is 17.2 hands, the ideal height for Ellesse who now stands at 180 cm.

Ellesse always loves the challenge of bringing a horse to the max - this time she has Corlette. Same story goes with her Super Conqueror, a graceful 8 year old gelding TB whose FEI debut in the WDC 2006  awarded them 1st in Malaysia and 2nd in the FEI Region 8 WDC 2007 in the Advance Test. Both Ellesse and Super C are currently training for PSG.  Then there is her 18 year old showjumping mare, Sarabago who constantly amazes and beats world class showjumpers.

For the coming months, it will be hectic for Ellesse, as she will train with her coach Ingo Menze, a professional grand prix rider and under the tutelage of Tanja Traupe and Mr. Manfred, the principals of Waldefried Stables at Frankfurt.

At this dressage stable, she gets the chance to train with a variety of horses from the very young to school masters, the "German way" as she says. Her only regret when training in Germany is she has to put her jumping on hold but still loves the thrill and adrenaline.

However on the high note, Waldefried Team has adopted her in their team and are behind her all the way, hopefully to riding Grand Prix and to the Olympics.
