Conducting lectures and demonstrations at Haras de la Cense Expo in 2006 (France) and Equitana 1999, 2001 and 2003.

Delivering a presentation and demonstration at the Global Dressage Forum in October 2006.

Conducting an interactive presentation at the KNHS (National Training Centre) in Holland, for 50 top-level trainers on the application of learning theory to dressage. After an initial lecture on learning theory, trainers then had to explain what they saw in terms of learning theory when Anky Van Grunsven gave a demonstration ride. The second part of the demonstration involved helping Anky resolve a challenging issue with one of her new acquisitions using learning theory.

Andrew McLean is responsible for developing and managing the Australian Equine Behaviour Centre, the largest horse training/behaviour-modification centre in Australia. He conducts training clinics in all the Australian capital cities where he deals with behavioural problems and promotes a scientific understanding of the psychology horse training. He is the world's only horse trainer who is a member of the International Society of Applied Ethology, an elite academic group of animal behaviourists.
Mclean is considered the ultimate combination of a practical horse trainer and an academic thinker. He has completed his PhD at the university of Melbourne. His specialist academic areas are Animal Mentality and Horse Training Psychology. McLean has published various experiments on horse behaviour in the elite peer-reviewed journal Applied Animal Behaviour Science. From 1977 to 1991 he lectured zoology and animal behaviour at the University of Tasmania, Launceston and in 1978 he was commissioned to write a series of four books and practical manuals entitled "Cell biology and Genetics".
Andrew McLean is an accomplished and successful competition rider. In 1989, Andrew won the prestigious Gawler CCI*** and later that year represented Australia in the Trans Tasman Cup. He has represented Victoria in Dressage, and has trained and competed at FEI level. He has ridden in show jumping Grand Prix's.
In 1995 McLean coached the Indian equestrian team in the Asia Pacific Games to win the bronze medal. Andrew McLean has conducted clinics and demonstrated training and retraining all over Europe. Andrew has a strong interest in disseminating the science behind horse training to the equestrian world.
He co-authored "Horse training the McLean Way" published in 2002. In 2003 he published "The Truth About Horses" which has sold over 30,000 copies world wide.
McLean successfully presented a seminar during the 2006 Global Dressage Forum and is re-invited for a presentation about learned helpnessless.
