Event Director of Arthayasa Sporthorse 2009 - Alla Poloumieva

The next edition of Arthayasa Open, then called Arthayasa Sporthorse Open, will take place in the Arthayasa Stables & Country Club on 8-10 May 2009.

With the new name comes a new addition to the event – Arthayasa Sporthorse Open will feature the first Indonesian Grand Prix in showjumping on Sunday, May 10, 2009.

The show organizer, Alla Poloumieva, is delighted to announce that Olaf Petersen (GER), a FEI Official International Course Designer, will design the showjumping courses for the competition this year.

FEI Official International Course Designer, Mr. Olaf Petersen will design the showjumping courses

For more than 30 years Mr. Petersen has been designing courses worldwide, from competitions for beginners up to the Olympic Games (Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008).

Arthayasa Sporthorse Open will be held over three days and will run the various Indonesian National Showjumping Championship classes on Saturday and Sunday. The riders will have a chance to collect the points for the National Championship on both days.

"We need to bring the riding level of Indonesian riders higher. Indonesia actually has a lot of talented riders. Unlike in the 80's or 90's, Indonesian riders are now a bit behind Malaysia's or Thailand's. That is why they need to get used to compete in a higher class like Indonesian Grand Prix class with 130cm course," said Poloumieva.
