China Equestrian Industry Shapes up to be a Multi-Billion $ Market

Despite a long tradition and an estimated 9 million horses in China, its emerging professional horse industry still lack knowledge and access to international horse breeders, trainers and suppliers of the latest professional equine equipment and services. Most competition horses are already sourced from overseas with current demand put about 1,000 per year and this is projected to grow by up to 500% over the coming years. It is clear to see that China’s professional horse industry does have the desire and wealth to acquire this expertise!

 

With the authorities in China keen to develop the horse sport industry at all levels, exhibiting at the China Horse Fair 2009 represent an excellent opportunity for international suppliers to enter the market now and position themselves for future growth.

 

For example, the government funded national horse racing teams have started to recruit overseas coaches, nutrition specialist and healthcare experts to improve the quality of horse training and management. The clubs also cater the lucrative public market as increasing number of China’s wealthy middle-class discover the pleasure of horse leisure activities. The number of clubs which meet the international standard of facilities and management is expected to ties for international suppliers.
