MELAKA, June 13 (Bernama) -- Federal Territory equestrian squad clinched their second gold medal of the 13th SUKMA after sweeping the team dressage at the Hang Jebat Equestrian Centre, Sunday.

Yesterday, their endurance team won the gold medal in the Endurance Team event.

The Federal Territory riders comprising Natalya Aira Wah Idris (My Wish), Haris Zulhkiple (Rosemary), Raja Alicia Raja Amin (Vivaldi) and Cheyene Sonya Stephanie Benta (Iliade De Balme) accumulated 192.27 points to grab the gold medal.

Melaka equines settled for the silver medal after accumulating 180.68 points while the bronze medal was went to Selangor with a total of 178.41 points.

Meanwhile, Natalya Aira, the younger daughter of Malaysia's renown music composer Datuk Wah Idris, stole the spotlight with her horse, My Wish, at the competition arena.

Natalya, 14, representing the Federal Territory led My Wish to score the highest mark in the Dressage Team event collecting a total of 67.05 points.

"Overall the performance was really good. My horse was in good condition. I am really happy with my performance.

"Previously, my horse (My Wish)... she was a little bit scared of the music and today, I was scared that I would get lower scores. However, she was really good today," said Natalya who had been involved in the event for the past three years.

The Garden International School student noted that the Melaka SUKMA would be the start of her journey to represent the country in equestrian.

After scoring the highest mark in the team event today, Natalya would now focus her attention on the individual dressage competition that begins tomorrow.
