Brother and Sister One two in Dressage bring Medal Tally to 15 for Malaysia at the SEA Games Equestrian Individual Final at Horseshoepoint, Pattaya, Thailand SEA GAMES yesterday.
Qabil Ambak Mahammad Fathil scored a superb 70.15 in the Individual Final on his horse Dexter for his Seventh SEA Games Gold Medal , his sister Quazandria Nur Mahamad Fathil Lewes scored 67.25 to earn the Silver Medal, Bronze went to Thailand’s Chalermcharm Yotviriyapanit on 66.250.
Putri Alia Soraya Ahmad Shuhaimi who had the top score in the Team Test and third in the Qualifier on Saturday, was not able to compete in the Finals yesterday as the Rules do not allow for a clean sweep in the Individual Medals, only two riders of each country can proceed to the finals.
Qabil will change his gear swapping his top hat and long coat for the hard helmet and short jacket to ride a different horse Parvina in Showjumping today. Qabil was the Individual Gold Medalist in the previous Games and is set to help his team in their quest today for another Medal, the Team Gold was won by the Philippines, the hosts of the Previous SEA Games.
The overall Medal tally to date in all sports are Thailand 66, Vietnam 28, Philippines 126, Malaysia 15.
