ARTHAYASA OPEN, Showjumping Highlight

Held for four days, with a number of classes in all 3 equestrian disciplines, various prizes from the sponsors, bazaar and lucky draw, Arthayasa Open 2008 attracted a lot of competitors. More then 430 times the riders saluted to the judges during the four-day show. Four competition arenas were used - the 45x90m outdoor sand arena for show jumping, the 20x40m outdoor grass arena and the 20x60m indoor sand arena for the dressage, and the cross country field. Few international officials were invited to Arthayasa Open including Mr. N. Y. Ho (SIN) as the President of Ground Jury Show Jumping, Mr. Jurg Maurer (SUI) as a Showjumping Course Designer and Mrs. Margrit Hoffman (GER) as the President of Ground Jury for the dressage.

 

The organizers offered more then 50 classes of different levels and categories in dressage and showjumping.

 

Clear round showjumping classes On Thursday were the great start for the riders. Four classes from the lowest height of 50cm up to 120cm were held. Showjumping Course Designer Mr. Jurg Maurer built nice courses - simple but encouraging riders to think, good warm up for the next two days of competition.

On Saturday the accumulator classes provided a lot of excitement for the spectators. The audience was thrilled cheering the competitors to attempt the Joker fence.  Many riders regardless of their skills went for the joker and some of them had to come out of the arena disappointed. The highest class of the day was won by Alla Poloumieva with her mare Kairo.

 

The excitement reached its peak at the last class of the day, the Show Jumping Provinces Team Cup sponsored by Mara Polo Equestrian Club (MPEC). Five teams with a total of 18 riders entered the competition. The first place and the trophy went to the team of Katim-1 with the total of 4 faults from the 2 rounds. Jojo Jonathan riding Rimo was the only rider of the team who managed a double clear round. It was a true girl-powered win for the Central Jawa team when both of their girl riders Pingkan Motira with Mambo Chacha and Tiara Zein with Blue Angel had double clear round each. The team finished second with the total of 8 faults. The Banten team entered the third position with 12 faults.

On the last day of the competition the spirit was still high and the tension was still on. Three show jumping trophies were set to be won. The first trophy of the day was presented for the Aviv Zein Memorial Show Jumping Open, a combined class for the 90cm on Saturday and the 100cm on Sunday. This class was made to honor Mr. Aviv Zein, the rider and the owner of the Intan Sakti Stable in Central Java, who passed away just few weeks ago. Johny Wulur riding Star Nose produced the only double clear round for this class winning the trophy and pocketing USD 1,000 in prize money.

The Show Jumping Provinces Individual trophy went to Bibit Sucipto from the province of Banten. Riding Salvador, Bibit had an exciting round with the fastest time and won the class sponsored by Pegasus Stable.

The last trophy was presented at the Show Jumping Master Cup 130cm, sponsored by Arthayasa Stable and Waldhausen, Germany. Riders had to compete in the heavy rain, but the nice ground made it possible. Ardi Hapsoro Hamidjojo with Cassandra went beautifully around the course to win the class and the trophy.
