First South East Asian World Cup Show Jumping Qualifier 2008 won by Helena Gabrielsson from Sweden

Helena Gabrielsson, of Sweden, based in Thailand, set the pace at the start of the season winning the first South East Asia World Cup qualifier in Putra Jaya on Sunday 15th 2008, This was the first show of the season in the Malaysian circuit attracting riders and horses from all over the region.

 

Riding King Power Aladdin, Helena was the deserving winner with a flawless tidy clear round in 77.04 seconds, Jacqueline Lai, from Hong Kong  clocked a faster round with an unfortunate rail down. Malaysian Quizer Ambak came third.

 

The weekend was the first leg of the Premier Cup Series. The Premier Cup Series 2 is scheduled for 27th to 29th June, followed by three shows every other weekend in 3QE, Kuang in July 2008.

 

The events started as early as Thursday with the ‘Warm Up Classes. Dressage and Show Jumping ran concurrently in different arenas at the magnificent venue of Taman Equestrian Putra Jaya - Putra Jaya Equestrian Park. With classes suitable for riders of all ages and abilities,  and for horses of various levels of training and experience, everyone had a challenging experience full of excitement and at times some anxious moments, all part of this wonderful sport.

 

Helena is featured over one of the jumps and the proud team of owner, horse, rider and groom.
