German Youth Championships 2010 in Aachen

For many young athletes a long-standing dream came true on Friday: They had the honour of opening the famous CHIO Aachen (June 26th-July 5th) with the vaulting competitions. Many talented young athletes, who are perhaps still waiting for the chance to make it to the World Equestrian Festival, will be given the chance to compete at the traditional show grounds next year: At the German Youth Championships 2010. Initial information is available immediately at the new website www.djm2010.de, which is receiving special support from the telecommunications provider NETAACHEN.
The DJM is being organised by the CHIO organisers, the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein on behalf of the German Equestrian Federation (FN) for the second time, the event was already held in Aachen in 2003. From August 13th-15th, 2010 the 450 most talented show-jumpers, dressage riders and vaulters will be travelling to the Soers in Aachen. Pony Riders (up to 16 years), Juniors (up to 18 years) and Young Riders (up to 21 years) will be invited to take part in the jumping and dressage competitions, as well as the individual vaulters (up to 18 year-olds) and group vaulters aged up to 16.
Frank Kemperman, Chairman of the ALRV, was delighted at being able to organise the German Youth Championships in Aachen: "The fact that we stage our Young Talents event, the Salut Festival, every year proves that promoting the youth is a matter close to our hearts." In 2009 the Salut Festival is scheduled from December 10th-13th.
